Final Draft: The Trip

Its been a long journey to get to this point. We crossed many bridges, (including the one in the film), and w have finally reached our finalization. We may not be professional film makers, but we do believe that we made a quality film. We hope you enjoy The Trip.  Link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBZO0_W3Mkc

Post Production 2 "Re-Shooting"

Luca Patarini P.3                         Post production 2 Over the past weekend we all met up to the place where filming took place. We re-shot a bunch of scenes with Alec's new Gimble which calmed the scenery and made the scenes much smoother. Some shots we had to redo were, for example, the mom scene where Zach walks past the old picture of his mom and it zooms in on her photograph, well this weekend we decided to change both the picture and what I was going to do as I was walking by. In this scene we were able to make the camera less shaky and added Zach flipping an envelope on the counter showing or expressing that it was something related to the death of his mom. This showed that she had only recently passed away and friends and family were still sending post cards.  Another thing we did was we fixed the lighting on most of the shots because they were all shot at differ...

Post Production 1 "Adding Scenes"

Focus on Editing Mrs. Gartland P.3 After our peer review we decided to add a little more scenes and camera angles to our film. For example, many of the shots we took were not understandable and wouldn't fully make the viewer understand the concept of the movie. We also need to work on the story and make it more sensible and take out scenes that are not really needed to understand the story. An example of this is the school scene at the beginning of the film which could be taken out without it really changing the story. Also, we need to research more on the drugs the character is taking because we need to also show that he was already under the influence before running and shoving them down his throat. By this I mean that perhaps we can imply that he is already under the influence but showing him taking some before he gets home. Another thing we could fix are the camera angle, making them fixate on the setting more and making the character show more emotion maybe. We also need t...

Peer Review

Peer Review Luca Patarini P.3 This week we presented our 2-minute film to the class, we watched our short film and then the class presented their views on the movie. First off we have to improve the lighting and work on making the story make a little more sense to what the subject is, later we need to work on the picture frame in our film where it shows a young woman but she is way to young to be the actual mother. With the frame we also need to put up a little memorial to kind of explain that she has passed on. Another mistake, I believe was big, was the fact that we rushed the effect on the pills and did not think of the fact that they take a while to have an effect. Another subject we could change is to add a main villain where he hurts the mother or Zach. We could also work on adding dizzy shots to implement that Zach is under the influence, and we need to improve our transitions to make them smoother. On the walk home from the school we could shorten it to not lose the con...

Production 3 "Editing"

Portfolio week update Patarini, Luca P.3 This week for our project we worked on editing the clips and trying to upload them on a flash drive. We still have not decided the ending for the story, but we are close to a decision as we are on the road to probably end with killing him. Mr. Zacharias helped us with some problems and issues we had with our style and editing where he gave us tips on how to complete the clips and put them together simply and easily. This Saturday we are meeting up at Jonah’s house to work on more film clips and record more scenes for our film. We will also be finally discussing the ending to what we want to do with the character because we need a decision now before we film the rest.
