Creativity and genre

When embarking on a new project or idea filled with ideas, creativity is really important for that sample to work. When working on something it is always great to use as much creativity as possible to allow the mind to make up new and bright ideas for the project or subject. In the ted talk we watched this week; The speaker was telling a story on how the creativity and thoughts of other people might be different from your own. In this story, the guy explained how when a restaurant was being built, the builders gave the idea to the chefs and told them to draw out the idea of what their ideal place would be, the architect then drew what thy thought looked good.

In the end, when the builders looked at the ideas, they were completely different which explains the creativity in each and every person and how each person is special in different ways. In my group, with Jonah and Alec, I realized how we all had different ideas for what our short film was going to look like and this made me realize how different our creative minds work and the amount of ideas we have all together combined. This is a positive thing because with all our ideas we would never run out of creativity, helping us greatly on our project. Jonah is a very hard-working person so we would have to start off with him and all the ideas that he could have. Secondly, Alec is a very fast worker so his idea on the speed of the film might be different from ours.

Rapping it up, for our portfolio, my group will be doing a short film based on the horror genre. We believe this is a good choice because this subject would keep us awake and not bore us after a while, also it is me and Jonah’s favorite genre. This project excites me because we have chosen the place where we would be filming, and I have not been there in a long time. I am also excited about how many of my friends other than my group will b participating in this short film or ours. Lastly, I hope to do well on this project because I am really excited for it and would really be a shame if it did not end up good.
